About My Practice
I provide consultation and treatment to clients with a wide variety of issues and concerns. My extensive training in both psychodynamic psychology as well as in biological psychiatry allows me to provide a comprehensive assessment of human suffering. I have particular experience in working with people who are anxious and depressed. As well, I have helped many trauma survivors to heal their wounds. I offer psychotherapy, and consider the use of medication when someone’s symptoms are interfering with that person’s capacity to cope with daily life. The treatment approach is tailored to the individual, with regard to style, substance and duration.
I have additional special interests in the treatment of addictions, and in sport psychiatry.
Many people who come to see me are not seeking relief from specific symptoms, but rather want to work on their psychological growth and their spiritual development.
Beyond my life as a psychiatrist, I am an active triathlete. My athletic experiences, as well as my life long immersion in Taoism and Tibetan Buddhism, have heightened my awareness of the crucial importance of physical activity and of spiritual life to emotional well being, and to healing.
