Why I chose to pursue a career in healthcare: Apparently I said I wanted to be a baby doctor since I was five. There was never any doubt that I would be involved in the care of women, especially during the birth process. I started working in an obstetrical unit as a new graduate nurse and have been a nurse midwife since 1992. I am proud to say that I was part of bringing midwifery care to the women in York County as the first CNM to get hospital privileges. I completed a Doctor of Nursing Practice with a focus on care of the postpartum women with an opiate use disorder in 2018. What I want my patients to know about me: I am committed to the care of women and families. I believe that women should be partners in their care.
