I saw Dr. Xia's Nurse Practitioner Dudo twice with severe upper abdominal pain. She insisted both times I had acid reflux issues (which I knew I didn't have) and prescribed medication instead of listening to my symptoms. The second appointment, she admonished me for not taking the reflux medicine and continued advocating for it. However, I had done my research before the second appointment and asked her to please give me a physical abdominal exam and order a CT Scan because I read up on my symptoms and they were textbook upper abdominal hernia. She said she' d order the scan but it was just as likely I had a tumor as a hernia (wow). The next day, the CT Scan showed I had a significant surgical induced upper abdominal hernia. The doctor I sought for help and surgery after Dudo said the hernia was so significantly pronounced he didn't even need to see a CT scan to diagnose it. He said it was serious and would require an immediate surgery. NP Dudo wanted me to take reflux medicine.
