I became a speech-language pathologist because the field combined my love for words and language with my passion for helping people. I quickly learned that the field goes far beyond just words. I have become passionate about helping adults regain their language and cognitive skills following a stroke or traumatic brain injury. I practice patient-centered care, keeping therapy sessions as functional and practical as possible. I use evidence-based practices alongside personally meaningful tasks to help patients work on goals that matter to them. My areas of interest include: aphasia, apraxia of speech, augmentative and alternative communication (AAC), cognitive-communication deficits related to stroke. Outside of work, I enjoy hiking, hanging out with my family, doing jigsaw puzzles and playing with my cats.
