Dr. Natalie Yip is an Associate Professor of Medicine at Columbia University Irving Medical Center within the Division of Pulmonary, Allergy & Critical Care Medicine. She is the Section Chief for Critical Care at Milstein, Allen and Westchester Hospitals and Director of the Medical Intensive Care Unit and Medical Critical Care Services at NewYork-Presbyterian/Columbia. Additionally, she serves as the Vice Chair of Inpatient Clinical Operations for the Department of Medicine, and in that capacity works closely with hospital leadership to ensure safe, effective, and efficient care on the inpatient medicine services. She earned her undergraduate degree from Harvard University and her MD from Columbia University College of Physicians & Surgeons. She also completed her residency and fellowship training at Columbia where she served as chief fellow and has remained on faculty at Columbia ever since. An active clinical intensivist with a passion for mechanical ventilation, Dr. Yip devotes a lot of time on education both at the local and national level and in addition to numerous teaching awards, has been inducted into Columbia’s Academy of Clinical Excellence. In addition to her responsibilities and commitment to improving quality of care in the ICUs and beyond, she is also engaged in research related to health care implementation and delivery.
