I had cataract surgery in both eyes, and believe it or not I didn't realize how blind I was until I had surgery with Dr. Elklins and I could see again. Dr. Elkins did an amazing job of preparing me for the operation. He told me what would happen, he told me it would be painless, as it was. 5 minutes after the operation, when I opened my eyes the difference was night and day. Thank you very much Dr. Elkins.

I have been a patient of Dr. Elkins for over 5 years. I'm a professional in health services management field, with a speciality in quality of care, and I can absolutely say that Dr. Elkins and his colleagues represent the epitome of what anyone would want in a doctor. He is not only experience, well trained, and technically competent, but his personal style is warm and friendly and open. You couldn't have a better combination. Plus, unlike other doctor's offices I have been to, the office is extremely well run. Everyone one is support positions are timely, and thorough. You can't do better than that!

I have been a patient of Dr. Elkins for almost four years. I had issues with my eyes where I was over-tearing and Dr. Elkins fixed everything. Everything is normal now, and I would recommend Dr.Elkins to my own friends and family.

Whenever I go to his office, he makes me feel comfortable. I had lasik in in Dec. 09 and it was one of the best decisions I ever made. Whole process was very smooth - Dr. Elkins and staff were smooth and helpful the entire way. I have been seeing Dr. E since high school. I only wish I had done the lasik earlier!

Always a pleasure to go in there. Everyone is very kind, and the staff is always fun. I would highly recommend him to anyone, especially after getting my Lasik done. He said it would come out perfect and it actually did. I had a bump around the eye because of surfing for over 30 years and he was able to do the surgery around the hinge with no problem.

Dr. Elkins is just an awesome guy. He is an amazing surgeon; I had cataract surgery for both eyes with him and my vision is perfect now because I have depth perception again! I have gone to him for a number of years and there is no else I would rather go to Dr. than Elkins.

I took my cousin to see Brad Elkins and our experience was far from satisfying. We were treated rudely by the staff and my cousin’s exam was rushed and issues were left unresolved or unexplained. I personally know two patients who left the practice of Brad Elkins in frustration, including one who is a healthcare professional himself and knows something about good bedside manner and medical integrity. Despite the apparent repeated rants of some posters, most negative posts that I have read are consistent with our own unpleasant experience with Elkins and are not without merit. I do not mind those who have had positive outcomes posting their own positive reviews, but one has to wonder why Brad Elkins finds it necessary to hire a Carlsbad-based firm (Review Boost) to artificially boost his ratings by bombarding the Internet with mass and duplicated postings on numerous web sites (many of which are posted repeatedly on the same site, such as Google, under various false account names) and ignore his negative feedback. If Dr. Elkins is so perfect, honest, and secure about his reputation, why is he engaging in such deception? Is this who you want operating on your eyes?

I cannot recommend Brad Elkins to anyone based on level services he had provided for me. Avoid at all cost,I had to file compliant with Board of Optometry and consumer affair with fraudulent insurance charges and unethical behavior of OAV and DR Elkins. DR Elkins care more about getting paid than proper service. Constantly bill me for exam i did not ask for or i did eventually OAV reverse VSP charges after several complaints
I suppose to have comprehensive exam and all he did was a slit-lamp exam and pressure test. His technician performed refraction. Did not diagnose a number of my issues: blepharitis, dry eye, rosacea, and the need for a prism. After 3 months, things were terrible – terrific pain and horrible visual distortion. He assured me if i continue with Restasis, Doxycycline and lubricant eye drop, dry eye would be better then after a year, and then two years. Now, my vision is worse than ever and the pain is unbearable
Fraudulent insurance charge with VSP and UHC, file claim on vsp without my knowledge, billing mistake, billing dept was confrontation and rude. constantly bill me for exame i did not ask or did

There is really nothing I can say that is good about OAV or Dr. Brad Elkins in particular. The parking is horrible (valet only), the staff is rude, the technicians and ODs run through their routines like robots, and Brad Elkins is an easily frustrated young man who seems to have contempt for his patients when things go wrong. You can do much better than this place.

I had a great experience from OAV and Dr. Elkins. He was referred to me from a family friend who had received LASIK a few months prior to my own. From day one it was a pleasant experience and it's unfortunate that other people haven't had the same. I have nothing negative to say about Dr. Elkins or his staff. Chloe was also very helpful and between her, Dr. Elkins, and the rest of the staff my fears of the surgery were decreased and I'm so thankful I had it.
