I have been seeing Dr. Baccaro for several months. I went to her because I've had issues with depression and wanted to look into "seeing someone" for help. During our first appointment, Dr. Baccaro answered her phone 3 separate times and spent more time with the person (or people) on the other end of her cell than she did me. Strike #1.
Before any personal information/past history was ever brought up (becuase she never actually asked) she already had a presciption written out for me- without discussing my feelings on starting a drug for something that may just need "talk therapy." But then again, since she was mentally absent from our appointment, she wouldn't know my feelings about anything. Strike #2.
Although I had my reservations about starting a medication that would change the chemistry in my brain, so in effect could change my mood/personality/thought process, I figured "She's the doctor, the specialist. Let me at least try this since I am here for help afterall.
I've been on an SSRI for months now, and noticed no change in my depression. I have, however, had a few (common, but still unwelcome) side effects. Of course, the good Dr. wants me to stay on this after increasing the dose twice with no change in it's result. Strike #3.
I'm done with her and never returning.
No one who is actually looking for help should go to her. If you're looking for drugs to be someone different- make an appointment asap. Good luck

I felt this dr. was almost unprofessional! She took notes more than she actively listened to what was being said (Or omitted) and I knew she wasn't really listening because she would ask me a a rather painful question to which i would answer and then 15 seconds later she'd ask it again... and then again... and again! It was very odd! I would say that most psychologist/psychiatrist are direct but respectful. This dr. was direct AND rude! She made assumptions based off of very little evidence and then drew her own conclusions from the incorrect assumptions even after I corrected her several times!

Further, she prescribed me medicine without asking what meds I was currently on. Good thing I read the pamphlet. When I called her on it, she said it was my fault that I didn't fill the form out despite is saying to list only psychiatric meds which I was taking none. All in all, she was rude, her office was cluttered and she hasn't got a clue about the word 'listening'.

Run for the hills on this one!

I only went to this psychiatrist because the only 2 that are actually covered providers through my insurance had no openings for 2 months and she apparently had immediate openings.

Dr. Baccaro did not request my history from my previous psychiatrist and only went by what I was able to tell her, not a good sign but I gave her the benefit of the doubt and went back.

To start with, she decided, without ANY sort of evaluation, that I did not need one of my medications and did not refill my prescription. She also did not seem to hear or understand that the medications that I was/am currently on are not effective. I attempted to tell her this on 3 occasions and tried to explain to her that I was having difficulties functioning in my day to day life. She did not seem to care to make any changes to actually help me and seemed content to do nothing.

I assume that she is not familiar with bipolar disorders or the bipolar spectrum as she did not understand my disease and why I knew my medications were not doing what they should be doing. She also seemed to not know what Trileptal was and asked me several times why I had taken it in the past. Yet again, not a good sign for a psychiatrist.

My final visit she argued with me and insulted me when I stood up for myself and told her that I NEED to change medications, only then did she actually ask to have my files faxed over.

Needless to say, I am no longer seeing Dr. Baccaro and I do not recommend her if you have a bipolar disorder.
