My mother, who was in her 60's, had an appointment and I went with her because I was concerned that she didn't understand how to properly manage the disease she had been diagnosed with. When I provided evidence - bottles of medicine that should have been empty in 30 days still half full after 90 days , etc - I was met with contempt and treated as if I should have minded my own business. I was looking to her to partner with me on helping my mom take the necessary precautions to stay healthy, but she was just looking to finish the appointment on time.
