I've been with Dr. Walko for 6 years and have found her to always be attentive, thorough, patient, and sensitive to my needs. I've never hesitated to ask any question that comes to mind and she has answered them all with openess, honesty, and most importantly intelligence.

Been seeing Dr. Walko for two years. She suggests innovative new drugs, listens thoroughly, and is attentive. The practice is disorganized administratively.
On three occasions I've arrived at the pharmacy to discover the staff neglected to call in prescriptions. The most recent an acute situation triggering health emergency -- asthma causing respiratory distress.
When I began having difficulty breathing, the physician on call neglected to return a call for two hours, seemed put out he had to round up the prescription late in the evening.
On another occasion the staff called in an incorrect prescription to a mail order service, a situation which required to attempts to to solve.
The one-on-one care is great, but the slipshod administration could jeopardize health.

This doctor misdiagnosed me with a thyroid problem I never had (as recently confirmed by specialists). She put me on a thyroid medication for six years that severely impaired my health and that I was told by specialists to stop immediately. Knowing full well my family history of breast cancer, she did not send me for regular mammograms (just two, four years apart). Instead of making me aware and educating me about this disease, or providing some literature or information, she mentioned none of the symptoms or risk factors for this disease. What's worse, she dismissed the symptoms I was having (chronic breast pain, change in the size and shape and contour of breasts, growth near nipple) and sent me not to a breast specialist, but instead to a dermatologist! Under her care, she missed diagnosing me with breast cancer until it was very late. She is careless about reading test reports and about updating herself on your case history before she visits with you. She does little to make you aware or to educate you, does not take the symptoms you tell her about seriously (kids about breast lumps as being "like a bunch of grapes in there"), and seems to specialize in misdiagnosis. She is very inexperienced and ignorant. Information and research that most doctors know of, are news to her. I'm very sorry I went to her.
