I have to go to the dentist very regularly to maintain my military deployment status. Dr Portnoy and her staff make every visit enjoyable. Her pleasant support staff is enjoyable on the phone and while sitting in the chair. Dr Portnoy is thorough and meticulous. Since my dental health directly affects my military career, I feel I am in great hands with Dr Portnoy and her team. If any of my friends or family need a dentist, I recommend Dr Portnoy with zeal.

I have never since such a friendly environment. I can't believe they actually took my cheap skate insurance.. I really enjoy their services. They did good with my broken tooth. I thought this tooth was at the end of its rope but the Dr was able to safe it. At first I didn't know how I would like these dentists but they were awesome. I like them because they didn't brush me off after my appointment. They made sure I understand what was going on and they showed me my X-rays and what needed to be done if unfortunate things happen. They let me know how I can prevent things from happening. I have no problems with them and I would recommend people to try them out. I think they are the best I've encounter so far and I plan to stay with them for a long time.

I just read a review posted by an angry and uninformed (probably former)patient of this dental practice. I was shocked. I am a patient of Portnoy & Tu, DDS along with my three children. I have found the dentists to be knowledgeable, painless, efficient and professional. The staff of hygienists and assistants are friendly and compassionate, and have recommended preventative and maintenance programs for me and my children. The administrative and accounting staff have worked effectively with my insurance company (MetLife Dental) to maximize my claims and minimize my out-of-pocket expenses. They even partially refunded a co-pay after learning that they were able to get my insurance carrier to pay an additional amount. I have found this dental practice to be flexible with my scheduling and high-tech with their procedures and email/texting capability for appointment scheduling. I don't look forward to visiting the dentist anymore than the next guy, however, this office has been a pleasure for me and my children to work with. I highly recommend Portnoy & Tu, DDS to patients of all ages.

Dental care is terrible. Cleaning, sometimes done by the dentist, is a little better than brushing your teeth yourself. Missed a cavity completely until a root canal was needed despite taking X-ray every other year.

The accounting staff is so incompetent that you have to check with their office staff constantly and even so they still miss filing insurance claims. The dentists hide behind the staff and will not talk to you about your concerns.
