It is almost impossible for an exisiting patient to get an appointment at La Familia Dental Clinic, even though there often seem to be no patients waiting. They will not make your next appointment when you are there. Instead, they say call back in three months, and when I did, they say it again. And again. They rarely answer the phone and never return voice messages. They apparently reserve no spaces for patients with acute needs. I wrote a letter to the director, addressing these problems, and I got no response.

The staff (not the dentist) have a very bad attitude, like they are doing you a huge favor to see you at all, since you are low income. I have been a patient at other, now unfortunately closed, sliding scale clinics in Santa Fe that were efficient, friendly, and accessible, with excellent quality care. This is not the case with La Familia.

I felt very rushed. They barely spent two minutes with me and almost completely ignored me. They never take that extra step to make me feel special. I haven't ever felt that they care enough to get to know me and that I'm almost an irritation. My mouth felt disgusting when I left my appointment. It actually felt dirtier than it did when I arrived. I did not feel safe at all in their care. I definitely had doubts about their qualifications.

The chairs in their waiting room were pretty average. They weren't top-of-the-line but weren't uncomfortable either. I felt very rushed. They barely spent two minutes with me and almost completely ignored me. They were very qualified and knowledgeable. I could tell that they've been doing their job well for quite a while. The women that work in the front desk are very unfriendly and treated me like I was dumb. I couldn't finish asking a question before this one women wouold answer for me. This is now that they moved to SFCC . I don't especially like going to dentists, but it makes it more unplease t when the workers are unpleasent.

They were very sympathetic to my situation, and made me feel cared for. I knew that I could count on them at all times. The dentist and staff were so friendly and accommodating. I have never felt more welcome at a dental appointment! They were very qualified and knowledgeable. I could tell that they've been doing their job well for quite a while. Getting an appointment at this office wasn't too difficult. They always go above and beyond to make sure I understand every single detail about my dental procedures. I'm always able to get all my questions answered, and I'm never nervous about starting a procedure.
