I cannot explain my dis-satisfation with the staff. I have been going to Ringwood medical for 23 years and have never had an experience like this. I would expect this from a business that did not know my family, but after 23 years it was awful. My son has a heart problem. I needed a referral from Dr Mill's office, so he could see his cardiologist. We were told that they do not give written referrals any more, that the cardiologist can pull it off of the computer. When we arrived at the cardiologist, they had never heard of such a thing. I explained to them what they needed to do and they gave it a try. They tried for 20 to 30 minutes but could not retrieve the referral. I called Dr. Mill's office, to ask them to fax a hard copy. They simply refused to do so. They apologized that my son was "caught in the middle" of this. I was told "it wasn't their job" to send the referral. What ever happened to the patient comes first!!!! After all of these years with them I expected more. This was too simple to fix.
To be fair, I did call the insurance company and they told me my cardiologist cannot retrieve referrals (only primary doctors can) and it was my referring doctor's office that is responsible for sending the referral. The insurance company retrieved the referral and faxed it to the cardiologist's office. We ended up at the office for over 2 1/2 hours, because someone could not take the time out, to fax a referral.
I am sorry but "its not my job" isn't what I call customer friendly.

This was the second strike in the past year. The first, was my son had an ear infection. I was told, we would have to wait three days for an appointment. Three days for an ear infection? I guess they have never had one. We went somewhere else and got in that day.
