Dr Farbowitz and his team are incredibly talented and went above and beyond to make sure that I was comfortable before, during and after my surgery. I cannot thank them enough for giving me the ability to see clearly without the need for glasses or contact lenses. If you are considering LASIK, make sure you go with Dr Farbowitz and the Short Hills Opthalmology team. They are simply the best!

NEVER in my entire life have I been so disappointed and frustrated with a doctor or his staff. We moved into Millburn from out of town, almost three years ago and were happy to find an opthamologist who accepted our insurance. Since my first visit in June, 2011, we have been in several times. I got one bill, in 2011, which I asssumed was an error since Dr. Farbowitz was in our plan, and immediately returned it to Vicki in billing. I never heard another word from Vicki, Dr. Farbowitz or the front desk about unpaid bills. Nobody EVER told us that despite Dr. Farbowitz being part of the plan, that he was not getting paid by the insurance company.
As soon as I became aware of the unpaid bills, which was almost 2 1/2 years later, I called Vicki. She had no record that we had been given any notice of outstanding bills, other than the bill in from June 2011, to which I had already responded in 2011. She did not even have a copy of the letter I sent to her regarding the insurance. I immediately went to the office personally and spoke with Joy as Dr. Farbowitz would not even speak with my husband or myself.
HOW CAN WE BE HELD RESPONSIBLE FOR VISITS WE WOULD NEVER HAVE SCHEDULED HAD WE KNOWN THAT THE DOCTOR WAS NOT BEING PAID!!! WHY DIDN'T ANYONE IN THAT OFFICE EVER TELL US THAT THERE WAS MONEY OWED?? THERE IS NO WAY WE WOULD HAVE EVER RETURNED, SINCE THE ENTIRE POINT OF INSURANCE IS TO COVER MEDICAL EXPENSES!
THE PROBLEM IS THAT DR. FARBOWITZ AND HIS STAFF REFUSE TO EVEN SPEAK TO US OR COME TO

In response to Lisa, I (Joy- Practice Manager) spent an hour with this patient explaining her whole family's accounting. This patient did not understand their insurance benefits and their claims were denied. After over a year of billing, they were sent to collections. Dr. Farbowitz had already discounted a number of the procedures. These patients were offered to be removed from collections and put on a payment plan, but only want their balances written-off.

Absolutely not. I was forced to call the emergency room.

Yes, I was in agony!
Does this provider give unbiased advice?
Definitely not! It was obvious they just wanted to make money!
Does this provider treat every client equally?
Not at all, they only make time for their favorite clients

I felt extremely pressured

I didn't experience any unnecessary pain during my visit, and I was amazed at how much better I felt after I left. I am always so impressed with how quickly my calls are answered here. I am never put on hold for a long time and love knowing that if I have a quick question I won't have to wait a half hour through terrible music to get it answered. Their staff is the most friendly, welcoming staff I've ever dealt with. They are so warm and professional, and make the whole experience that much better.

They didn't pressure me to buy anything I didn't need, which I really appreciated. I've been to other places that pressured me to buy stuff and it always made me very uneasy. When comparing them to others I have visited for the same condition, they are among the best I have seen. It was easy to get the appointment time that worked for my schedule. Their office was nice and quiet. I was worried it would be overly loud but it was fine.
