I have had nothing but good experiences with Dr Dubner and his office. I called the office to make an appointment, they were very flexible with my schedule. The girls that answer the phone were very polite and helpful. Dr. Dubner took his time with me and answered every question I had in full detail. I have had 3 different surgeries with Dr Dubner and wouldnt have even of thought of going elsewhere. He is very compassionate and caring doctor. I would and do recommend him to everyone I know.

A friend told me about a letter submitted about Dr. Sanford Dubner, After reading it I was compelled to write my own Remember folks sometimes it's the patient.. I have been a patient of Dr. Dubners for a few years now and I could not be more pleased with my medical care and the treatment by his staff .Dr. Dubner has always been available to me before and after my surgery. His staff has been professional and friendly thru the years. I could not have gotten thru the ordeal of surgery without all of them.In fact after my surgery my husband became a patient and had office surgery with Dr. Dubner on two seperate occasions. SO REMEMBER sometimes IT'S THE PATIENT.

Everyone in my community knows that they are the absolute best in the field. They are always so attentive and caring. They take the time to really listen to all of my opinions, and address all of my concerns. I was amazed at how wonderfully they treated each of their staff members. They were so appreciative and thankful. I've never seen any employer treat their staff better, and it made me want to come back that much more. It was so nice to arrive and see many fully qualified staff members. I've gone to some places that were very understaffed and I've never had a good experience. This place had a great staff though, and I'll definitely be going back.

Do not be fooled by Doctor Dubner's compassion and sympathy to your fears and concerns about surgery before the surgery because after the surgery is complete and you are discharged from LIJ New Hyde Park he will not care if you are dead or alive even if you end up in the ER. And even more surprising is the fact that after going back to the hospital that he performed the surgery in due to complications of the surgery, he would not admit me as a surgical patient and or would not come to the ER to advise anyone on my care or to see how I was doing. He will however call you back if he is worried about a malpractice suit from your family after seeing the results from the ER, and after you have the results and have consulted another doctor with them. Mind you this all happened after I made several attempts to let him know that what I was feeling was not right and he told me to take more medication which I did for a 12 hour period and still felt like something was wrong. And do not be surprised or shocked if you wake up from surgery and he has advised you that he took out extra parts of your body that seem unnecessary to the issue that you went in for and are not even located in the area of what you went it to have removed.

As for his lovely staff: The 2 girls that sit at the front desk are actually the only nice ones at the office and by nice I mean they will say hello to you and maybe look you in the eyes when conversing. But for the most part they are the best part of that office. Then there is the surgical coordinator Dee, this lady is something and for those of you that have met her you know exactly what I mean. We have all met alot of rude and bitter people in our lives but this woman, (the woman in which you will have all contact with if you chose this doctor for surgery, the women who relays all of your messages to the doctor if you don't feel well, so don't piss this woman off otherwise it will be a huge strike against you, and there will be no sense of urgency if you have a problem) is just plain bitter. She is rude and impatient and it is evident that she hates her job and hates speaking to people about the same thing everyday. It really sucks when doctors hire people like her but I guess they don't have a choice since a job like this does not require a lot of skill and therefore must not pay a decent living wage. The doctor is only in the office Tuesdays and Thursdays for appointments, so good luck trying to get one. I understand that he is a busy man and that he does surgeries Mondays, Wednesdays and Fridays, but if you can’t handle what you take on and you are so busy that you cannot treat your patients then don’t take on more than you can handle. I would rather be told that the surgeon is to busy and is not taking new patients than to have been treated or mistreated the way I was. And I would think that the majority of the population would want this as well. Once you do get an appointment you will have to wait for at least an hour in his office before you see him.

I am not going to dispute the fact that this doctor did what he had to do and performed the surgery to the best of his ability, but he was rude, misleading, egotistical and useless after the surgery was complete. And I understand that medical treatment is not very good ever, but this particular treatment was horrendous and the doctor only started to take me seriously once I was released from the ER and he actually looked at my test results and when another doctor called him to advise him to look at the results. Everything is great before the surgery but once he operates on you that is it with this doctor do not expect any post operative treatment if you run into any complications with the surgery. Once you walk out of that hospital you are on your own. There are a million surgeons out there so please take my experience into consideration when looking for a surgeon. I hope this will save you and your loved ones time, frustration, fear and worry that Dr. Dubner has caused for myself, my family and my friends. Just be careful with who you chose, none of them are perfect but Doctor Dubner is probably one of the most egotistical doctors out there. Good luck in your search for a good surgeon.
