Dr. Belardo is a very good doctor, but one must deal with the staff. There is a new policy stating that there is a fee if you cancel your appointment within 24 hours. I have on two occasions gone to the office for an appointment, waited for over an hour in the waiting room and exam room, and finally dressed and left as I had other appointments scheduled with people who needed my services and I didn't want to keep them waiting. It appears that this would now be a "charge" even though the office couldn't run the appointment in a timely way.

In addition, I need blood drawn almost every visit, but they will not draw the blood until the doctor has seen me as he has to "order" it. Why can't this be "ordered" in the previous visit (since he is telling me to fast before the next visit so they can do it) and we could take care of that while I am waiting for him? It drives me crazy that I will still be waiting for the phlebotomists after the doctor leaves and on occasion I exit the exam room and they are chit chatting at the desk instead of attending to business.

The comment about the phones is spot on! I called today for an appointment for my husband and the phone was busy the first few times and then, after many rings, answered in a rude and unprofessional way which did not identify the clinic. I explained that I would like an appointment due to sickness and was told there were none available. Last time I was chastised for using Stat Care instead of being a "work in". Maybe they'll start to 'GET" why people are just choosing Stat Care over them? You've got to wait in either place, but at least in Stat Care, YOU choose the time, not the clinic and you don't have to deal with rude staff.

Another family member was told by Stat Care to seek an ophthomolgist and I called this office just to find out who they would recommend. I wasn't asking for a referral as I didn't need one; just a "who would you take your mom to". I was told that because I wasn't the patient (although patients is on my health care plan) and that they hadn't seen the patient in some time, they would give me any information. What a crock of s**t.

I'm seriously questioning if Dr. Belardo is worth having to wade through his crappy shared clinic staff. He is a terrific, competent doctor surrounded by folks who might be a better fit in a different industry...something without customer service contact.
