I brought my 4-year-old daughter to Dr. Toporcer for treatment of Mollescum warts. Dr. Toporcer prescribed Aldara cream. After using it for a few weeks, I realized the skin around the warts was paler. I read the all the fine print in the insert and discovered it "May cause pigment loss, which may be permanent." I was NEVER warned about this, and I would never have used Aldara on her if I'd known that was a danger. My daughter has olive skin and tans darkly. Now, more than a year later, she still has bleached blotches on her back and the backs of her legs, and apparently, they will be there forever.
