Dr. Pontani has a nice personality but I feel he cares more about you not getting healed than he does about healing you. I was a patient for nearly 2 years to be able to say this. The first year he was a good doctor and I was about a month from getting totally healed on the Wound-Vac he recommended, when he stated I would never heal if I did not agree to get a wound flap surgery with one half dollar sized wound. He referred me to a Dr. Humberto Cortez (plastic surgeon)which performed two separate wound flap surgeries which both failed without Dr.Cortex even being able to explain why they failed. This surgery in turn made my wounds 3 times worse than before the operation not to mention staying at Conroe Regional Medical Center Hospital I received another pressure wound during my hospitalization. After the wound flap surgeries failed I continued wound care at the wound care center with Pontani and was back on the Wound-Vac. On one of my visits I explained to Pontani I thought I had an infection and he dismissed it as a UTI. Two weeks later I came back with a full blown MRSA Staff infection I warned him I thought I might have which caused my wound to deteriorate and tunnel and now was much worse. Since day one at the clinic I had a personality issue with his nurse Becky Adams which caused a week delay in getting the Wound-Vac reinstated after my last hospitalization for wound debridement. Dr, Pontani should not allow his staffs personal views of patients have an impact on their wound care. Since it was a week before Becky Adams finally did her job and ordered the Wound-Vac I had acquired a large amount of necrotic tissue in my wounds since the surgery a week earlier.I then went to The Woodlands Wound Care Center for a second opinion under Evan B. Tow, D.O. which has seen me for 3 months and now has discharged me for false accusations of non-compliance with wound care which my home care nurses will testify is not true. Since I got a second opinion I can no longer go back to Conroe Wound Care Center Becky Adams explains to the Woodlands Wound Care Center.
Are there any honest doctors who care about patients and not just money or the bottom line financially speaking?
