Extremely dissatisfied with the way staff acts toward patients. These events happened in a four-day period.

My mother was admitted for care/therapy after a fall which broke her foot and made her immobile. She was still of sound mind, only needing help to be mobile.

Staff had her over-medicated for two days in a row, rendering her unable to speak or feed herself. When called to ask about her therapy progress, we were told by "Faye", an employee there, that she had performed her therapy just fine when in actuality we found out she was so incoherent she couldn't even perform her therapy that day.

Staff concluded that her inability to perform was due to weakness from not eating. So, not only did they render her unable to even feed herself, they did not make sure she was fed and then lied when confronted.

Two days later, she was starting to come back to her normal mental state but was very shaky. She told her tech, to check her oxygen machine setting. It was set 1.5 pts higher than it should have been which made her shake.

He told her that "you can't have too much oxygen, just like you can't have too much money". When her level was retuned to normal, the shakes stopped.

The same day, she called a nurse to help her to the restroom at 6:05pm. At 7:20pm, after she had already wet herself and had to lay in it for over an hour, we had to call the facilty and get very belligerent before someone would even check on her or change her bedsheets. We found out this was the second time that had happened.

Only after calling the administrator, Vickie Crocker, at home did things start improving.

More posts to come.
