My 89 yr. dad was released from the hospital after a diagnosis of pneumonia. He was very sick. I stayed with him day and night as he continued to decline. It was difficult to speak to nursing staff and his doctor, which was very frustrating. The moment I could see he was nearing death, I tried to reach the staff. They said they’d be right down. They did not. I was alone with him as he passed away. They immediately called the funeral home and started cleaning up the room. I had maybe 1/2 hour with him before they whisked him away. I asked where I could go (I was devastated and crying) and the aide said in the patient dining room. There was a huge snowstorm that day, and roads were closed. My car was literally buried in snow and I couldn’t leave. While I was in the room, I was laying on the couch, grieving when an aide tried to put her things on the same couch. She moved the vase of flowers which were my dads, from a large table to a side table next to me- which already was packed with a lamp and other stuff. She never spoke to me. I moved her coat to another nearby chair from the couch and she came back and put her stuff on the couch. The entire room was filled with tables and chairs that were empty, except for the couch I was on. My daughter called me and found out what was happening (she lived 100 mls away). She was appalled. She called her fiancé’s dad and he got through the roads with his big truck, and got my things and loaded me up and brought me home. What he did for me was above and beyond! He had more compassion than that nursing home staff combined had. I’ll never forget that heartbreaking experience, losing my dad- my world, and the lack of humanity that facility showed me. If it wasn’t for my little gal, I don’t know what I’d have done.

Definitely! I saw it as soon as I walked in!

Not at all! They are always respectful and courteous!

Extremely easy, and close to the entrance

Yes, they went above and beyond

Please do not send a loved one here! They are so short staffed they leave the residents in bed ALL weekend. Care is below standard. They are cutting staff like crazy. Patients are really suffering.

there is a blind man who is 90 and the nurses aides put his food on his tray and walk out. they don't help him eat. if he is asleep and doesn't know his tray arrived, they don't care if he ate or not, they just take the food away. that is cruel. cruel cruel
