I am appalled, upset, furious at the overall care at the Voss Wood. After an injury it was recommended by an attending doctor at the hospital to stay at a rehab facility. I have had no personal prior experiences for the Voss Wood, but it was close to home. Due to my negative experiences I will never recommend this facility nor will I ever admit a loved one to the Voss Wood. Patients are totally ignored, wrong med's are given and partial meds are given. The inexperienced LVN's and aides make sure the patients realize they don't care about you. You can buzz your emergency bedside buzzer and it could take hours for an aide to arrive. The food is awful, ok, I wasn't there for the food, but it was still awful. When I was promised the staff would arrange a ride to my doctor's appt., I was prepared and ready to go, then I was informed no one actually made the reservations for transportation. 8 days I was there, after I saw my surgeon outside of the Voss Wood, he informed me there was no reason for me to stay at Voss Wood, I return to Voss Wood following appt., and prepare to leave that evening. Voss Wood was officially informed and I was told when I left just to stop by the front desk to sign papers. Almost out the door I am informed I cannot leave. I must be signed out by "their Dr." who was not in the bldg. He would arrive in 2 hrs. No, I don't think I'll wait, I have been here for 8 days and not once was I seen by a Dr. at Voss Wood, I was promised I would be seen for 8 days but never was seen by one of their Dr.'s. I will add the physical therapy at Voss Wood was wonderful, but I could never recommend this facility to anyone. I urge anyone who reads this and is considering this facility for a loved one to please choose another facility. I was horrified how the elderly were ignored. I am only 50 y/o and able to speak up for myself, my heart went out to the residents who cannot speak up for themselves or those who have just given up. What an awful way to spend the end of your life in a facility who clearly is incompetant and definitely does not properly care for their patients. Shame on you Voss Wood!
