Highest level care and most caring doctor I have ever had. I drive from in from downtown S.A. because the excellent service and care is worth it. Dr. Rodenbeck saved my animal's life and extended the quality of life that Tommy had for the last year of his life. He always kept me informed, understood my fears and always put what was best for my dog first. They quickly returned all phone calls including nights and weekends and had the most up to date testing and information for his heart condition. I most highly recommend this vet hospital

My poor dog is a diabetic-and he was left unattended for hours. We were "forgotten" by the staff. I did not receive a call by the doctor once his diabetic curve test was done. After everything was complete, no one called me to pick him up. About 7pm I called and their office it was closed! Closed? I just moved to town from another state therefore had little familiarity with their office hours and procedures, however aren't you supposed to call the client to pick up their dog? Isn't the doctor supposed to call you with results of a test? When I called their emergency number, they didn't even remember who I was. My dog was well pass his feeding time which can mean life or death for a diabetic dog. I asked if they fed him (no). Why did not the doctor call (no response), where is my dog and what was their plan? Was anyone ever going to call? Or were you just going to leave him there with out food or insulin? (no response)
I drove over to pick him up and had to bang on the door. Finally they let me in and left me standing in the lobby for 10 minutes, when they came out, no dog. Where is my dog? They said you have to pay first. Oh, so you're holding my dog hostage until you get my credit card?
You all are sick, sick people and should not be carrying a license to practice medicine. If you love your pet, do not take them to Herbst Vet hospital in Boerne, TX it could a life or death choice for your pet. They do not follow through on procedures, except one: Taking your money.

Absolutely, they are always in stock and even offer flea medication by the month

The examining rooms at Herbst Veterinary Hospital P C's office were immaculate. You could practically eat of the floor if you wanted to. There were no bad smells and everything seemed really sterile. This veterinarian was extremely friendly, and paid attention to both me and my pet. They really made the extra effort to make us feel welcome and at home. I will absolutely return. I had an amazing experience, and they were by far the best I've ever seen. They made sure every single question I had was answered, and are always available if I think of any more questions I want answered. They fully explained my pet's condition. When I left I knew exactly what my pet has and what treatments are available.
