The people at this Vet are pleasant to deal with until a problem occurs.
Very recently we took our 4 year old Lab to Acadian for heartworm medicine and other shots. She was found to be fine and and we were asked what brand of medicine she had been on and we responded that she had been on Heartguard and assumed that would be the brand we would receive. Instead we were given Tri- Heart. We only realized the difference when we opened the package. Our dog would not go near it. She has in the past, willingly taken the Heartguard from our hand. We tried the Tri-Heart with cheese, peanut butter, hot dog etc. without success. This has turned a very simple process into a dreaded task.
Went back today to see what could be done to help us resolve this problem. The response was that, nothing would be done to assist or compensate us in any way. They do not sell Heartguard as Tri-Heart, according to them, is cheaper. They said that the meds are identical, and we would just have to try until we found what works for our dog. I could not believe the attitude!
They go out of their way to make everyone feel equally respected and cared for. I've seen client favoritism at some of the other places I've been, and I really appreciate the extra effort they make to avoid that here. Of course at times vets have to do unpleasant procedures on the pets, but they always demonstrate care and compassion. I really trust them and so do my pets. They always dress so professionally here, the entire staff obviously makes an effort to look their best and maintain a very professional appearance.
