We have been taking our adult dog Shadow to Dr. Sharma for the past 9 years! He truly cares for our pet and has a way to make both pet and owner feel very comfortable. Shadow gets very excited when he realizes he's going there. We've even used the boarding services and each time we pick Shadow up after a stay, he's always been very happy and clean. We can rest comfortably knowing that our pet is well taken care of in our absence.
I have been taking my dogs to Randallstown Animal Hospital @ 10022 Liberty Road in Randallstown MD for about 7 years. My experience has always been very pleasant until today. On Friday, October 3, 2014, I had my dog groomed. When I brought my dog home he was rubbing his ear and whining. I looked in his ear and noticed several scratches. The scratches were too far down in his ear for him to have scratched himself. I assumed that the groomer was attempting to get the hair out of his ear and scratched him accidently. As I looked closer I realized that his hair had been cut unevenly. His left side was trimmed closer than the right side and the hair on his ears was all over the place. The cut looked very unprofessional. On Monday morning, October 6, 2014, I called Randallstown and explained that I was not satisfied with the way my dog had been groomed. I told the groomer that my dog's hair looked like it had been butchered. She stated that was untrue. I told her that I would be at her location in 15 minutes so she could see for herself. Five minutes later Dr. Sharma, the owner of Randallstown Animal Hospital, called me and was very irate that I had stated that my dog’s hair looked like it had been butchered. I explained that my dog's hair had been cut unevenly and I wasn't satisfied with the service received. Dr. Sharma said that I could take my business elsewhere. He also said "That is what YOU PEOPLE do". I asked him what did he mean by "YOU PEOPLE". He would not answer. I told him that I was surprised at how he was talking to me and that we had never had any problems in the past. He continued to speak in a loud voice and told me to find another vet/groomer and not to bring my dog back to him. I told him again that I didn't understand why we were having this type of conversation. He continued to be disrespectful and I hung up. I decided to take my dog to Randallstown so Dr. Sharma could see for himself and to try to salvage the relationship that we had maintained for the past 7 years. Dr. Sharma was sitting at the desk when I entered. I asked him if I could show him what I was referring to. He looked at my dog and stated he didn't see anything wrong with him. I asked him to allow me to show him where the problems were. He stated that I could take my business elsewhere and he didn't want me to bring my dog there again. He stated that I was trying to make him lose his license. At this point I realized the problem was bigger than me complaining about their unprofessional grooming service. I incorrectly assumed that I could voice my displeasure with the service I had received. Apparently that is not allowed at Randallstown Animal Hospital. I still haven't been told what "YOU PEOPLE" mean, but I am sure we all know that it is a negative term and who that term refers to. It took me 7 years to realize that Randallstown Animal Hospital does not have any respect for me or the care of my dog. I am now looking for a good groomer and veterinarian.
Not only do my appointments never get canceled last minute, they take time out of their day to send me a reminder so I don't forget. They are extremely reliable. They have the greatest designated area for pets to go to the bathroom here, which is extremely convenient. I never have to worry about scouting out a place for my dog to go pee and It is so well kept too. I'm sure it's no surprise that my pet hates going to the vet, but what a relief to find an animal hospital that is so dedicated to making your pets experience as pleasant as possible. They never separate you from your pet and I was able to stay within "save me" range the whole time. No taking pets behind closed doors like other places I've been too.
