Galax saved my life. My grief and loneliness seem to be much better now and I have shed minimal tears over issues since I have come home. My soul and spirit has been restored in me and am living a healthy sober life.

My last treatment center doesn’t hold a candle to this place. I have felt safe and cared for ever since I got here. My concerns have been taken seriously and action is always taken to meet my needs.

I had tried to quit drugs numerous times on my own and just couldn’t do it. The support and skills I got at Galax finally helped me get sober and change my life. The staff were better than I ever imagined and really understood my issues.

Galax saved my life. The path I was on and the amount of drugs I was taking were killing me. I was so angry at my family at first for making me go to treatment and I was not very cooperative in the beginning. The staff would not let me quit on myself and got me to really see my life and what my problems were. It has been a difficult road but I wouldn’t change a thing.

As a member of the military, it was really helpful to me that Galax accepts Tricare. I needed financial help and the people at Galax helped me through the insurance process. I can’t thank them enough for that and for helping me deal with my addiction and start over my life.

Overall, the inpatient facility was not clean at all and the appearance looks NOTHING like the pictures on their website. Also, after 8 days I had not even seen the psychiatrist. The staff was not very friendly and the counselors were not readily available at any point and time. Also, I was prescribed medications in which I was not even informed of and was expected to take them. It was a very unclean, unfriendly atmosphere. The average age of the patient was around 22 years old and they were not well controlled. A lot of them were always cursing, displaying obvious “Rehab love” and continuously late to classes in the process interrupting classes and cross talking during classes impeding others desires to get recovery. They were never reprimanded for their behavior either. The only thing about this facility is that the program is a good program, but it was not as effective as it could have been due to ineffective counselors who were continuously late for classes and the constant interruptions of others. Furthermore, I WOULD NOT recommend this facility to anyone and I plan to file a complaint with my insurance company, The Joint Commission and with any other memberships they hold.
