After 4 weeks in the Kindred Hospital in NORTH-LAKE IL, I would never recommend this hospital/rehab to anyone. They barely gave me any information at all. I'm going to have to do my own research to get my questions answered. I would never recommend them to anyone. They were terrible. The chairs in their waiting room weren't the best but they served their purpose and I couldn't complain. The staff usually acts too busy to be interrupted and to answer my questions. They definitely weren't easy to reach in an emergency. I was forced to call for assistance in the middle of the night and was really scared and had to wait over an hour and fifteen minutes to receive assistance. The nurses are mostly lazy towards an end of shift and if you need assistance, they will make you wait until the next shift begins. I seen the aid/CNA go into empty room across the hall to take phone call and the person did not open the door or return to work for 45 minutes. Some of the aids/CNA are very nasty to me after my family member leaves for the evening. I had to wait an excessive amount of time to be cleaned after an accident(1-1 3/4 hours for cleaning) or to receive my medication(45-1 hour). .

I transferred to Kindred from Elmwood that place was horrible. I am on the first floor here at Kindred and the staff are amazing. Very nice nurses they constantly check on me and are overly caring. I have surgery in two days, hopefully when i return they will put me back on the first floor in my same room.

This is one of the worst hospitals for the elderly who can't talk for themselves.My Grandmother was neglected had a bed sore and multiple infections.This place is hell on earth if you have a trac and you can't communicate even if you were there twenty four hours you have to badger them to do there jobs.My grandma died as a result of there negligence of an infection. When you voiced concerns they always make excuses places like this care more about there lazy staff then the people who need care.My advice if you value your loved one don't place them here.It's not worth the price you pay this isn't a place you feel secure leaving at night.
