I had never heard of Kindred before and was a little leary, but my family has been pleased and everyone has been pleasant. Even the security guard assisted me with signing in and walking me to the room. The only thing I would recommend is that they get a lower entrance, walking up that hill is a bit cumbersome.

My mom's last at #kindredhospital they gave her #art supplies. She was delighted! For our family and my mom's care, we couldn't have asked for a nicer #recovery facility than here. Kudos to Mr. Robert Russell for an exceptional facility and staff. #kindredatlanta #Atlanta #juniperstreet #nursing #hospitality #traumarecovery #nurses #physicaltherapists #decenthospitalfood

I don't remember the first two weeks that I was on the ventilator, although my family says I tried to talk to them. When I came to myself, I recognized I was in a hospital. I could not verbalize much and was in a lot of pain. I even forgot how to do the things I know I knew how to do.

When they first tried to stand me up, I couldn't stand. A staff member named TJ came through the IC Unit. He stopped and spoke to me. I asked him to pray for me and he did. As we talked he also mentioned that he sang. He left the unit after we talked. I grabbed my daughters hand and told her to go ask him to come back and sing to me. He did! He had the voice of an angel. I knew God had touched my body at that moment.

Long story short, my body, mind and soul was taking a transformation. Every time I went to physical therapy, they also helped me with my own personal care. The therapists kept me going, even the other patients encouraged me; I felt hope. I knew I was beginning to mend.

I did pester the nurses without mercy but they kept giving mercy back to me. I started to get bossy and tell them how to do their job, I was in the ME zone. They bared with me and took great care of me. The day I took my first step, it was like a light went on. I didn't think about it, I just did it. It was like a 9-12 month old taking their first steps.

I know I have some work to do, but I know I can do it because I want it. I am thankful for all the help I have received here at Kindred Hospital. The nurses, my speech therapist, the staff, TJ, the people in the lab, dietary - Right on up or down from administration to the laundry room. Thank you for being here for me.

The staff here couldn't have been better! We're grateful to have them on our care team. My dad has been here over a month and is getting getting better day by day, everyone has been great. Sometimes the wait time can be a little longer than expected but over all a good experience. Connecting with people who actually care make the difference.

The nurses and doctors made my family feel important. They explain everything so that we understand. They welcome all our questions and we"re thankful for that.
