At a time when we were in crisis with our son, my wife and I learned of Mr. Margolis and his services. Mr. Margolis is a wonderful and adept counselor and guide. He assisted my son in moving beyond his challenges to strengthen his character and resolve to deal with difficult times. Mr. Margolis included both my Wife and I as part of the process. It was very fruitful. My son is so much the better now. As an outcome of my experience with Mr. Margolis, I myself decided to work with him as I was dealing with my own challenges as I worked through my wife's critical illness and serving as a sole caregiver for her. Mr. Margolis used thoughtful questions and his great notes to help guide me towards new enlightening ways of addressing the way I look at things that served as barriers to my personal growth. I have a different and more positive view towards things that used to bring great stress to my live. I strongly recommend Mr. Margolis for his excellent skills as a therapist with both children (my son was 18 at the time) and with adults.
My son had to drop out of college because of anxiety/depression that he never resolved after losing his brother 2 years ago and started seeing Mitch. He just went back to school last week after needing to take a break. The best review I can give for Mitch is to copy part of the email that my son sent to Mitch before he left....
"I'm sorry I didnt get a chance to say goodbye but I just wanted to say thank you so much for helping me get through the toughest time in my life. Your therapy sessions allowed me to gain the closure I never got after my brother passed. You helped me start to understand the voice in my head was controllable and you gave me the advice I needed to figure out how to control it. From the start of our sessions to now my head feels as if a fog has lifted and the sun came out. Good luck with everything and I hope to see you when I come home for breaks."
Mitch did a wonderful job helping my son get his life back on track. I highly recommend him!
I've been seeing Mitch for a couple of years. He's is an excellent therapist! I first started seeing Mitch about a personal situation, and in talking with him, I discovered that work stress was exacerbating it. I wouldn't have realized except Mitch listened closely and asked questions that went beyond the surface. He helped me figure out how to help myself instead of just saying "do a, b, and c and you'll be fine." This made me part of the process and really personalizes the sessions rather than giving a "one-size fits all" solution that may not have worked for me. I believe this gave me the tools to assist me in between sessions and for new situations.
We were extremely pleased with the help that we received from Mitch when our teenage son was going through some dark days. Mitch is warm and personable and he made it comfortable to talk through some very difficult issues. As a family he helped us improve our communications which we have carried forward since leaving our counseling sessions. Mitch was able to relate well to our son which was instrumental in helping him open up and talk about his problems. I am grateful to him for his help and I would highly recommend him.
Mitch is a wonderful therapist. My husband and I saw him several times for marriage counseling. He is very fair and makes a point of not taking sides. Mitch also did a great job of helping us to come up with our own solutions, without telling us what to do. Seeing Mitch really helped my husband's and my relationship, and would highly recommend him.
We began seeing Dr. Margolis after my teen-aged son made a suicide attempt several years ago. He seemed to know just what question to ask to get at the core of problems and guided us to solutions. Most tellingly, my son was extremely resistant to seeing him at first, as he had been with the many other therapists we had seen in the past. But with time, he got to feel that Dr. Margolis's office was a safe place, to the point where he actually requested to see Dr. Margolis by himself. Today, my son is gainfully employed and doing very well, and there is harmony in the family.
Mitch is terrific. I have been working with him for a couple years and the work we have done together has changed my life dramatically. He listens carefully and the questions he asks uncover parts of my relationships I never thought about. This partnering and discovery process has yielded great results. I am more comfortable with myself than I ever thought possible.
Mitch has helped me a great deal over the past 2 years with family and work/life balance issues. I have found his kind, caring and understanding style beneficial.
Mitch helped family out with a sudden problem, and in just a few sessions gracefully helped us to move forward and all feel better about the situation. We really appreciated his calm, kind manner and excellent listening skills.
