For the most part our experience here has been positive. The call light response time seemed greater than I would have liked. But overall, my husband's care has been good. The staff has been very nice and very helpful. I appreciate all the care and time everyone has spent with us. I feel the RN staff is very good here. I would recommend Kindred Mercy for your extended healthcare needs.

I came here in early October with a wound. They really helped to heal it. The wound care nurses were great! I am going back to rehab and hope to return home soon. The wound nurses were very careful and always explained what they were doing. The entire staff was very nice. Therapy was excellent also. My doctor was also very good. And thank you to patient relations for always checking on me. I would recommend this hospital.

My wife, Joan, was admitted to Kindred Hospital on September 9,2015. She had previously been a patient at a local short term intensive care facility for four weeks, where she was being treated been fitted with a trach tube for acute respiratory problems. Upon arrival at Kindred, she had been fitted with a trach tube and connected to a respirator and was receiving nourishment through a feeding tube connected directly through her abdominal wall to her stomach. She was bedfast and completely unable to care for herself or perform even the slightest physical tasks. We deeply appreciate the wonderful professional caregivers that have done so much to assist Joan on her road to recovery here at Kindred. The improvement we have seen in Joan's condition and performance has been remarkable. The nurses and technical support staff have provided tireless and loving care around the clock, responding pleasantly to the numerous requests for assistance, physical and emotional. We cannot thank them enough. The therapists, physical, speech, occupational and respiratory, have been so kind, so patient and a real joy to work with. The primary goal for Joan's recovery was clearly the process of weaning from the respirator and treatment of the pneumonia that she developed, probably from aspiration of materials during intubation in the earlier stages of treatment at the first acut care facility. Another concern addressed by Kindred physicians and nurses was the careful monitoring of Joan's respiratory system to treat her pneumonia with proper antibiotics. Her lungs are now perfectly clear. How exciting it has been to hear Joan talk again--to see her eT solid food again. Incidentally, the food here has been excellent! As Joan has responded to daily therapy, it has been impressive to see her regain considerable physical strength and become able to feed herself, to stand and to WALK with the aid of competent therapists! We have a great deal of admiration and gratitude to the wonderful professionals who have given so much attention and loving care to both of us. Thank you, thank you, thank you!!!

The staff here is very nice and they took very good care of me. When I came in I was on a ventilator and now I am leaving without the vent. I made progress in therapy too. Thanks to everyone that helped me!

After a major surgery and having spent an entire month in another hospital my husband needed more medical care still and was not ready for home or even rehab yet. Kindred offered my husband the acute care he needed medically for another two months. They became our home away from home. Kindred provided the physicians, nurses, and support staff that kept my husband alive after an aspiration pneumonia event. Without them he probably would not be here today. My husband's favorite person was their Patient advocate because that is what she did for him......she advocated whenever we had concerns or issues. Awesome people who really care work there.

After spending the majority of a month intubated and bedridden from a stroke at the tender age of 48, I needed an acute rehab center to regain strength and motor function. Kindred provided me with excellent nursing care, physical therapy, occupational therapy, respiratory care, and physician services. Staff, at all levels, listened to any complaint or request I had, and went out of their way to fix the issue. A special thanks to nurses Kay and Zach whose patience through the last night or two of a resolving case of ICU delirium made a huge difference in getting me through to discharge. I don't have any hesitation as both a former patient and a practicing RN of 26 years in recommending Kindred for any rehabilitation needs.
