I was born in Tallahassee, Florida, and raised in Washington, D.C., where I spent my childhood as an oboist, playing some piano and active with the DC. Youth Orchestra until I was 18. Then, I went to college at Tuskegee Institute, in Alabama; transferred to Clark College in Atlanta, graduated and eventually attended Georgia State University and Argosy Sarasota, in Sarasota Florida. I am currently a single mother of one daughter in college, a National Board Certified Early Elementary Educator with a Doctorate in Curriculum and Instruction, and have 19 years experience as an early elementary teacher in an inner city public school in Atlanta, Georgia.
