In 2014, the World Health Organization stated that cancer rates worldwide will rise by 57% by 2034, boldly declaring that there will be an “imminent global cancer disaster” in the coming years. Breast cancer affects 1 in 8 women in the United States, according to the National Cancer Institute.
There is a light at the end of the tunnel, however. Did you know that more than half of all cancers can be avoided through the right kind of lifestyle and eating habits? In fact, according to the American Association of Pharmaceutical Scientists (AAPS):
“Only 5-10% of all cancer cases can be attributed to genetic defects, whereas the remaining 90-95% have their roots in the environment and lifestyle.”
The AAPS also comments that “cancer is a preventable disease that requires major lifestyle changes.”
This is a statement that is worth repeating: Cancer is a preventable disease.
What is Cancer?
Now I have some more shocking news for you. Cancer is not really a “disease” at all. It is the accumulation of many illnesses and weaknesses within the body.
How does the body become so weak that a cancer tumor would take hold? The ways are too numerous to mention, but they include an entourage of harmful conditions that stress the body to the point in which a tumor develops. These toxins weaken our bodies day after day, until “suddenly” we find a lump or a bump.
My Story
It was a spring morning about 13 years ago. I was in the shower when I felt that fateful “lump.” My heart sank; I knew it was a cancerous tumor.
When I developed breast cancer I was at the “top of my game.” I had been eating organic for decades, exercised regularly, and stuck to a strict vitamin and herbal regime.
“How could I have breast cancer?” I thought. After all, I was “Dr. V,” the one everyone else came to when they were sick. By then, I had been a chiropractor and holistic health practitioner for over 25 years.
Choosing a course of action after discovering cancer is a very personal decision. I had seen enough of the side effects of traditional cancer treatments to know that the only path for me was to use all-natural protocols.
Still, l had no idea what could have triggered the tumor. That’s when the researcher in me took over and I went down a rabbit hole of self-discovery. Today I have the privilege of sharing what I know with thousands across the globe.
The Essentials of Health and Breast Cancer Prevention
While I searched for my own answers, I discovered many factors that can lead to disease that weren’t even on my self-care radar. After a while, I knew I had to get the word out to others in a way that would not just present information, but would also inspire. Here is a quick rundown of what I eventually turned in to a step-by-step program designed to teach others how to prevent "dis-ease" and create vibrant health naturally:
Essential #1: Let Food Be Your Medicine. Hippocrates said: “Food is Medicine.” Food fuels our cells; if we consume toxic, “dead” food most of the time, then our bodies will reflect that. On the other hand, if we eat foods filled with life-giving nutrients, we will live vibrant lives!
Essential #2: Reduce Your Toxic Exposure. A 2008 report by the President’s Cancer Panel of the National Cancer Institute stated that "the American people – even before they are born – are bombarded continually with myriad combinations of … dangerous exposures." Toxic burden is inevitable in our world, but we can take steps to avoid many sources of toxins and develop detoxification protocols that work for us.
Essential #3: Balance Your Energy. This may sound a bit odd, but did you know that everything is energy? Your Central Nerve System, your Acupuncture Meridian System and your hormones are all ways that energy “shows up” in your body. Helping the body’s energetic pathways to flow in the proper way can have a real impact on your health.
Essential #4: Heal Your Emotional Wounds. Have you ever had a pain in your neck or shoulders because of a stressful situation? This is a great example of your emotions (or “e-motions”) causing a physical response. The new field of “psycho-neuro-immunology” proves that strands of DNA contract and relax in response to mood!
Essential #5: Embrace Biological Dentistry. I have witnessed time and again the relationship between diseased organs and dental meridians. Many women I coach have root canals or mercury fillings on the side of the mouth where the breast meridian is.
Essential #6: Repair Your Body with Therapeutic Plants. Modern science is catching up to ancient traditions to prove that specific plant compounds can not only detoxify the body, but can even target cancer stem cells without harming healthy cells.
Essential #7: Adopt Very Early Detection. Early detection is about preventing tumors before they have a chance to develop. Thermography is a safe early-detection option which can help find abnormalities in the breast area up to 8 years before tumors appear on a mammogram. There are also blood tests which can detect elevated cancer activity at the cellular level.
Cancer cannot grow in a healthy body. If you remember anything from this article, remember this: Cancer cannot grow in a healthy body.
A study by Dr. Dean Ornish M.D. showed that improvements in nutrition, exercise level, stress levels, and social support were able to positively change the expression of over 500 genes!
The people in Dr. Cornish’s study were all normal individuals who were able to turn their health around—and so can you! We ALL have the ability to take actions that can allow the amazing healing capacity of the body to express itself fully.
