Is anyone having good results with anti-depressant meds?

I am a bipolar person who doesn't take any anti-depressants because they had the reverse effect on me, I take fish oil a natural anti-depressant with zero side effects. But I'm beginning to believe that the mind is powerful more powerful than any drug and if somebody believes it will make them better than it will. IN my personal biased opinion they don't help and the pharmeacutical companies and doctors are making a killing off of our vulnerability and naivite. Besst of lucks to you. GoodFLGirl, It may be dangerous to make blanket statements about a medicine when you're not a physician. Antidepressants cause problems in some people and work on others. I used to take Paxil for panic attacks and I felt fine. Not a single side effect except my panic attacks went away. Then over time I went off it and now I'm cured. While on it I made some lifestyle changes: I improved my diet, I stopped drinking, and incorporated more relaxation and stress relief into my life (like yoga, etc). But without the antidepressants to give me that head start, I don't know what would have happened. Regarding praying to the Lord, studies seem to show it doesn't work. Check out this large study: . Run! Our son was on these meds for about 3 years and got worse and worse.... then he needed heart medication... and he got violent. Then Adderall for school.... he was a walking medicine cabinet. We got him off the zoloft and all the others weren't needed anymore. We (a year later) have a whole new son! He isn't angry anymore or violent! He is loving and wonderful! Do the research in Canada on any drug that you are currious about as drug companies don't give kick backs to doctors there. Also, Canada has "black boxed" all of these types of meds for kids due to the Suddent Unexplained Deaths. (SUD's) Run! Here are free words of advise. Pray.
