How Does Acupuncture Work?

Acupuncture is a very simplistic medicine which allows your body to heal itself naturally.
There are pathways or meridians that run through your body. These pathways carry blood and energy to the different organs. Think of these pathways as garden hoses, as long as you have free flow of water or blood and energy, the grass gets water ( the organs receive blood and energy). If there is a kink in the hose, what happens? The water or blood and energy stop. Symptoms start to happen from that point on.
Acupuncture helps to open up that kink and restore free flow of blood and energy to the affected area. When that happens, symptoms start to go away. Even though symptoms go away that does not mean the problem has gone away too.
A good Acupuncturist will work with you to eliminate the cause of the symptom(s) not just the symptom itself.
If you have symptoms, there is a decrease in function somewhere in your body. An experienced Acupuncturist knows how to treat you without drugs.
