As I discover wellness, there is plenty of room for improvement in our diet. The first major decision in our home was to eliminate "liquid meat" known as milk.
Do you recall the milk mustaches of yesteryear? I do, it sure looked fun and what child wouldn't want a milk mustache...with a smile. Turns out, the economics of milk and milk by-products to the ADA was much more important. We were deceived. Several recent studies reveal drinking milk is more likely to cause osteoporosis. Far more concern is the fact that "liquid meat" contains hormones and carries diseases. The worst thing about mass produced dairy products is not the disease, but the torture for the cows involved. Milk production is also terrible for the environment. More waste produced than milk. Where does the waste go?
Research reveals that dairy products are a major cause of our population being overweight. Of course, with all food consumption moderation is necessary. One 12oz glass of milk contains as much fat as 8 strips of bacon, "liquid meat" Research for yourself....there is much more to this than I will write.
We began last week consuming soymilk, " vanilla" is in our refrigerator. The kids like it. This is a major step as we evolve into a wellness family. I encourage you to seek wellness in your diet. Try with one item and when your ready take another step forward into wellness. The feeling is automatic! Thank you for reading this. God Bless you!
