I can honestly say that Dr. Trinkoff is the most unhelpful Dr. that I have encountered in over 15 years of visiting neurologists. To expand just a bit on that, he is the most useless Dr. that I have had the displeasure encountering in not just the speciality of Neurology, but across the full gamut of medicine, veterinarians, chiropractors, and acupuncturists included.
I was under his care for years and not once did I see him get up from behind his desk. And, this desk! Picture an episode of Hoarders and times it by 10. Just complete filth - papers, food wrappers, patient files, college text books. It made my head spin walking in that place. Most Dr.'s also try to stay reasonably fit to set a good example for their patients, that is definitely NOT the case at this practice.
It was not uncommon to have wait times of up to 1 or 2 hours sometimes with only one person(or possibly no one!) ahead of you. That was just plain idiotic to me and almost always kicked off your visit negatively and most certainly left a bad taste in my mouth with the complications it created with my work schedule. My work manager just couldn't understand how a monthly Dr.'s appointment that was 15 minutes from our office away was taking 3 or 4 hours regularly, and, rightfully so.
I always got the impression that the staff was as fed up with his nonsense as the patients were. One of them tried to retire and had to keep returning because none of her replacements would stay due to how bizarre and hostile the environment was around that office. She was a real nice lady, I felt so bad to keep see her coming back from her retirement because no one would stay. It was almost comical, but in a sad way.
When it came to recommendations on my condition, there really were none to speak of. We would often spend most of my visit going over my pesky medical history, which you would think after a handful of times he would remember. There are few things that grind my gears quite like a Dr. who you see on a very regular basis who cannot recount a thing about you, what medication you are on, things you may have tried in the past to treat your condition, etc.. To me this behavior is just plain insulting, a spit in the face if you will. I am paying this guy to take care of me and he can barely remember my name from month to month let alone my medical history. Just so, so pathetic on so, so many levels.
Anyway, I could go on and on and on and I may come back to expand on this a bit, but I think I have said enough to paint what I see as a VERY accurate review of this practice. It seems others feel similarly and you don't have to look very far on the web to drudge up other reviews stating many of the same concerns with this Dr. as I have set forth above. If you are in need of a Neurologist continue looking! Unless one of the values you seek out in a Dr. is ineptitude, then maybe you've found your guy.
Hope this helps.
