Ms Ksiazek was both educator and counselor. She attended to my physical and mental well being and helped me understand how they are related. She was patient with my protestations and under her care, I lost nealry 100 lbs in a little over a year. More importantly, I was able to maintain the weight loss for over 10 years.

I came to lose weight and improve my knowledge of nutrition. I couldn’t believe how awful these services would be. On first visit, they want you to sign a form committing to a minimum number of visits and say you can’t see the nutritionist unless you sign (then they could bill my insurance and me for unfinished visits!). I wouldn’t sign but she saw me anyway. What a clip jointi. I wish I had left then. My daily food allowance was a starvation diet—my big meal was a cracker with tuna—and extensive exercise. I lost too much weight too quickly and believe I was very undernourished. On my second visit, I had listed on my records 3 Mrs. Ts pierogies for my main meal. She said I could only have One for a meal. I asked her why she had so many empty boxes on shelves surrounding desk. She said that’s so people would know what they should eat! That’s nutrition? That lady is out of touch!!! After a month or two I was so malnourished and over-exercised I developed A fib and wound up in the houspital with flu and need Cardiac conversion which didn’t hold and after add’l A fib conversions, I had surgery to correct A-fib resulting in a lengthy one year recovery in which I developed an abdominal hernia but never had surgery to correct because of risks involved. My experience with this nutritionist was horrible. Consider such risks before becoming too involved. I followed this program given to me exactly and, being overweight but healthier was better than what I suffered afterward which was the beginning of health problems. You can say I might have had these health problems anyway, but I disagree. I have the awareness that, yes, lose weight but figure out yourself how you can safely do that—cut out sweet desserts and substitute fruits instead but don’t starve yourself drastically. Just decrease the portions over time. I learned that bread is one that puts weight on me but you can’t get good bread anymore anyway so You aren’t losing out nowadays anyway. And stay away from those wafers and snacks in those boxes because, since they contain processed, no nutrition tasteless stuff, you just want to eat more to get some satisfaction which isn’t there. Eat lots of greens, fresh vegetables and nuts, homemade soups, unless you are limited for other reasons. You can do it on your own and don’t Need to be misguided by someone who can give you hurtful information after charging money and tryiing to lock you into a contract. Spend the money on better food which is so costly these days. We can’t afford to waste money today just as we thought we were commuting a sin if we wasted food! Might be more less sinful and doing good to give the extra tfood o aged people who no longer can cook or to a poor hungry person. Blessings to All and good health.
