Dr McDougal received a bachelor's degree from the University of Utah, and then an additional 4 years of post-graduate doctoral level study concentrating on vision, eye disease and associated systemic disease from Southern California College of Optometry where he graduated in 1985. He practiced in Blythe, California, Camp Verde and Payson, Arizona before opening his Mesa office in 1991.

I have had my share of hurry-up-and-git-out-of my-chair eye exams. Dr McDougal was not one of those eye doctors. I felt like he took the time to answer all my questions and he gave me a very thorough
