Joseph R. Cohen, DDS of Southwest Pain Management is completely unprofessional. I went to him twice for the treatment of my TMJ and I will never go back again! This man is terrible, very egotistical, mean, nasty and arrogant. Plus, he does not do the work himself but has one of his assistants do it. During my first appointment with him, the man was barely in the room. And when he did stop in, he was on his cell phone having an interview. That's right, HE WAS INTERVIEWING FOR ANOTHER JOB!!! You should have heard him brag how wonderful he thinks he is. He's in the exam room with me but on the phone trying to find another place to work. At the same time, he did nothing on me himself and he charged my insurance company for it. My insurance company paid him to do an interview. I wonder if the other doctors he works with knows that he's trying to leave the company? His poor assistant did everything herself. On my second visit I had some questions about the mouth piece I wear. I tried to ask him, politely, about my concerns and everytime I did, he was so snotty about it, even one time mocking my question. I was stunned that he was being so rude when I hadnt done a single thing wrong. I never once treated him badly. He is very unprofessional. He kept mocking me so I quit asking questions. I mean, how rude to stand there and repeat everything I say like it was stupid. I had some true concerns that he did not answer. What a jerk. When he finally left the room, his assistant could tell I was very hurt and upset. She said that I would need to come back in a few weeks to have the mouth piece adjusted again. I said "yeh". She gave me a look that said she knew I wasnt coming back ever again. Something tells me, she's been through this before with this man. I doubt I'm the first patient he's chased off. A friend of mine also goes to him and she agreed, he's horrible. If you want a doctor who will treat you with respect, kindness and consideration, do NOT go to Joseph R. Cohen, the guy is terrible.
