Most humiliating day of my life.
I get a referral from my dentist to see Michael Fukawa. I call his office because I'm in the worst pain ever. They tell me they can see me and to come on over. I leave work and head over. The left side of my face is on fire, i have to keep cooling it down with cold water. My cell phone rings, its Mr. Fukawa office calling me back 10 minutes after I talked to them to tell me if I'm not there at 4:15 they won't see me(it's 4:00). I'm now in a panic cause its Friday afternoon. So I race to there office, make it at 4:15 exactly and have to fill out paperwork( I can't see thru the tears and pain). I sit in the waiting room til 4:40 in incredible pain crying crocodile tears the pain is so bad. Finally, he will see me. I get in his chair he takes some xrays. He tells me I have an infection and I need a root canal. Then he numbs up my face and In comes the receptionist to tell me the root canal is a two day procedure and I will have to come for a second visit and what day and time would I like to come back, mind you my face is numbed up, I'm in the worst pain of my life and I've been crying for the last couple hours. I ask her "really do I have to try to figure out my calendar at this very moment? I'm lying back in the dentist chair crying and my mouth completely numb and she says well the root canal cost $1100 and your insurance only covers 90%, we need you to pay the balance right now. I think for a moment, shoot, I was so worried about getting here because they called and threatened not to see me if I don't get there in the next 15 minutes I didn't even think about stopping to get cash. I was coming straight from work so I didn't have time to go home and get my check book or credit card. Yup, you got it. They made me get up and leave. Told me they wouldn't complete the service unless I paid the $100 balance ( the other $1000 was being paid by the insurance). I had to get up with half my face numb and leave. I was so pissed and humiliated, i'm walking out the office in tears feeling like crap. I came back in 30 seconds later and asked If I could run to the ATM to get the money and the girl looked at me and said we're closed. I have to go thru the weekend with this pain. Don't even waste your time going to this office unless you're up for a BIG severing of HUMILIATION. I called my dentist to tell her what had just happened she could not believe it. She is trying to find another dentist to do a root canal on the weekend. WORST DENTIST EVER.
