He has a passion for his work and a tireless commitment to his on-going professional development. It has led him to complete a challenging core curriculum in Intensive Short-Term Dynamic Psychotherapy (ISTDP); to become certified in Eye Movement Desensitization and Reprocessing (EMDR); and also to pursue training in Somatic Experiencing (SE) and mindfulness techniques. He has also helped his wife, Susan Warshow, LCSW, to develop Dynamic Emotion Focused Therapy (DEFT). He addition, he founded and created several men’s groups to help men to become more connected to their emotions and to each other.
Outstanding therapy goes beyond technique and therapeutic orientation. Perhaps even beyond his advanced degrees, training, and 30+ years of experience, his clients value his very real, down to earth, genuinely kind and compassionate qualities. Donn Warshow, Ph.D. is a Licensed Clinical Psychologist. In addition, he is a credentialed School Psychologist and Licensed Educational Psychologist. He provides psychotherapy and assessments for adults, children, adolescents and families. He has expertise in the treatment of anxiety, panic disorder and post-traumatic stress; depression; ADHD and learning disabilities; parenting and relationship issues. In addition to his private practice serving both adults and children, Dr. Warshow also previously served as a therapist for School Mental Health and a psychologist at LAUSD for twenty-three years. He also served on their ADHD task force and has facilitated social skills groups for children. He has given numerous public presentations to parents and teachers and is a consultant to pediatricians. He helps parents to develop behavior modification techniques to enable their children and adolescents to function more effectively at home and at school.
