I would also highly recommend Malama Chiropractic Clinic. While on vacation I was having major shoulder/back issues where I had trouble sleeping and couldn’t participate in many Big Island activities. In searching the web I didn’t find many websites or reviews for chiropractors or massage therapists in the Kona area. So I picked Malama because they had a great looking website and one or two reviews. I assumed if they invested the time and effort into a website they must be very professional and I was right! The office was very clean and professional looking. I can’t say enough about all the staff; Jamie, Kate, Mary, Dr Jesse Broderson and Dr Shannon Hogan. They were all very friendly, professional, attentive and indeed caring and able to fit me in on short notice during the busy Christmas Holiday Season. After a few chiropractic treatments by Jesse and Shannon and a few great massages and a lot of self-stretching I was back to normal.
During my first visit Jesse was very attentive and caring in analyzing my range of motion, diagnosing my condition and planning my treatment which included manual therapy, traction, cold therapy and electrotherapy. During each of these treatments, both Jesse and Shannon were very attentive checking in on you and adjusting your treatment if required on a regular basis.
My treatment also included deep massage therapy by Mary Teshima. Through her quick preliminary assessment she was able to target specific muscles that required massage therapy and getting the muscles to release. She definitely knew how to work the affected muscles but also the related muscles. This has to be one of the best massage therapy treatments I have ever had. And she also had great recommendations on her Japanese family restaurant, Teshima’s Restaurant just south of Kona.
My wife also needed treatment for her hip and back during our vacation. She thinks that her chiropractic and massage therapy were some of the best she has ever had. She couldn’t say enough about the smiling and friendly front office staff; Jamie and Kate.
I highly recommend Malama Clinic if you ever need chiropractic or massage therapy while in the Kailua- Kona area. You will not be disappointed!
