My family has been with Family Medicine since they opened in the 90's. As an adult, I moved and changed physicians but my parents stayed with Dr. Jeske at Family Medicine. After his retirement, they stayed loyal to the group and began care under Athena Mason. The last few years have been packed with serious medical diagnosis' for both parents. Currently, one parent is experiencing a diagnosis that requires 2 home health services several times a week to address his open wound that requires IV antibiotics and causes debilitating pain. Mason refuses to prescribe pain medications, even after receiving calls from the expert wound care nurses and advanced practioners who have called Mason, in an attempt to advocate for appropriate pain management. Mason will not prescribe ANY pain medication, even for a severe acute situation as this. It is such a helpless feeling watching your 80+ year old parents suffer due to a physicians lack of empathy. 80 y/o's are not the opiod problem!

I had an excellent visit with Dr. Mason! She was empathetic, engaging and listened to my concerns. Her staff was pleasant and quick with their duties. Although the office was outdated, Dr. Mason told me they are in the process of moving to a new facility next door.
