Dr. Cornell is the best. He has been caring for my family for years and they love to see the Doc! He has helped them out on countless occasions. I am so thankful Newport has such a wonderful podiatrist. Not only did he take my mother in for an emergency last month, but my daughter, who accompanied me with my mother, hurt her foot during soccer, and he checked her too! The BEST!! Thanks. Highly recommend to anyone looking for a caring, experienced foot doctor.

I recently brought my 17 year old son, who has cerebral palsy and requires a wheelchair to see Dr. Cornell to treat 2 ingrown toenails. My son was nervous and twitched quite a bit, but Dr. Cornell had treated him before and was able to make him feel at ease. This time, however, Dr. Cornell was quite short with my son, and seemed overly flustered. First, he acknowledged that both of his toes were infected, and that he would have to perform a procedure to cut away the sides of his toenails, just as he had done before. He kept telling him that he had to stop moving or he would have to stop, and that he had another patient waiting. My son calmed down a bit, but when Dr. Cornell inserted the anesthetic needle in my son's toe, he screamed very loudly. At that, Dr. Cornell put the needle down, and said over and over again, "I can't do this" and that he had another patient to get to. My son appologized and promised to stay calm, but Dr. Cornell walked out on him, leaving behind the needle full of anesthetic on the counter. He also did not prescribe to my son an antibiotic for his toe infections. I brought the needle up to the receptionist's desk, she looked unfazed by it all. I understand that it is difficult to treat a nervous special needs child, but find Dr. Cornell's conduct unprofessional and inexcusable. My suggestion to any considering a visit to see Dr. Cornell is...try someone else, there has to be someone better than this walking time bomb.
