I wasted so much time with this doctor. She never took my pain seriously-- she even rolled her eyes at me. She never followed up. She was dismissive of my other doctors, who are leaders in their fields. She didn't run tests that would have led to my diagnosis. I don't understand why she is so respected by the local medical world. How can you trust a doctor who doesn't trust you?

The receptionist says no doc here believes in pain meds. They treat the disease and then send you onward to a pain specialist. Its pretty obvious here that these doctors think all patients are idiots. Sorry but you can't treat a disease when you don't even know how it started or why it attacks certain areas on different people. If anyone tells you they can successfully treat fibromyalgia, they are full of crap. If a smoker gets lung cancer, its easy to say if you don't want lung cancer, don't smoke. There isn't a doctor on this planet who knows how we get fibromyalgia, therefore, you can only treat the symptoms with meds that these doctors won't give you. And if you think fruits and veggies will cure your fibro, forget it, been there, done that, didn't work. You might as well treat with voo doo. I told the receptionist no thanks then called my GP and told her forget it. Maybe NYC or Boston will show a glimmer of hope, but I doubt it.
