I couldn't drive at night because street lights and headlights from other vehicles would completely blind. I couldn't even read a newspaper. I had visited 3 ophthalmologist over a 4 year period of time. One in Georgia and 2 in Tennessee. I ask one doctor if I might have cataracts and he dismissively told me I was too young to have cataracts and even if I did no doctor would operate until I was well into my 70's. I was 52 at the time. Another doctor gave me a handwritten list of exotic/organic foods to buy. He said those foods were all he and his wife ate. He then asked me in a soft voice to please not tell the associates doctors who shared his clinic about his 'unorthodox' recommendations. He said they wouldn't agree. Finally I was referred to Dr. Smith by an acquaintance who had a growth removed from her eye by Dr. Smith. Within 5 minutes or less of examining me Dr. Smith informed me that I had posterior sub-capsular cataracts. I asked, doubtfully, if there was anything she could do and she smiled and said, "Oh, sure. We'll just put you in some new lens." Within 8 weeks I had new eye lens and 20/20 vision in both eyes. I do need reading glasses, but that's it. People can't truly appreciate their vision until they nearly lose it like I did. I owe it all to Dr. Smith. She's a wonderful physician and she's a wonder person as well.
