I went to Dr. Rodts on a recommendation by a nurse that assisted my mother when she was in Elmhurst hospital with a knee problem. I had fallen and injured both my knees and my wrists and did not know who to see about it. The nurse said if she had my problem she would go to Dr. Rodts. After a brief examination by Dr. Rodts, I was instructed to have Xrays taken in his same building. After the xrays were taken, Dr. Rodts received them immediately and said they did not show much and that I needed an MRI on my knees and wrists. He said he wanted me to have this done at Elmhurst Memorial Hospital. He instructed me to have the wrist one done first. I asked him if I should make an appointment for the results. He said no, he would call me because it might turn out to be something else and then he would not be the doctor I would need to see. I did what he requested and called a few days later for the results. I had to leave a message for the Doctor. I waited a week and no call. I called again and waited another week and no call. I called again and waited a few days and still no call. I called at least twice a week for another month and a half. The doctor refused to return my call. I asked his receptionist why he would not return any of my calls. She replied she did not know but she said if it makes any difference, I was not the only one he did this to. I gave up on Dr. Rodts and went to the hospital myself and picked up the tests. I then took them to my regular doctor who said that physcial therapy was in order. I went thru the therapy program and still my knees and wrists were not corrected. Of the two therapists that worked on my knees at the end of the therapy program allowed by my insurance, one said I might need surgery and the other said I was making progress because I could do the exercises they gave me, even though I could not walk without pain the next day, I was still able to come back the day after that for another session. After my insurance was exhausted, I gave up and decided to try and live with it. Dr. Rodts had left me in a position where I had to search for someone else to help with my problem and as of today, over a year later, I still have some pain when walking and bending my legs and have yet to learn why.
