I had visited Dr. Sessa's office due to anxiety. I had done thorough research on my issues, and had already tried SSRIs, but they were not helpful in the least. In fact, they usually made me feel dizzy and nauseous.. which would only serve to INCREASE my stress and anxiety. I mentioned that I had read in several anxiety support forums / websites how helpful benzo-class medications (ativan, xanax, valium) were if used as directed.. The moment I mentioned them, Dr. Sessa shot down the idea as being a total "no-no", and proceeded to offer me the same type of generic SSRI medications which I'd tried before, basically indicating he had a blanket policy against benzodiazepene class medications as treatments for anxiety / panic disorders.

I will at least say that he was sincere and explanatory in his reasons for his policies. I did try to politely suggest that he let me at least try some sort of benzo-type medication on an as-needed basis (to avoid abuse) to find out if it would perhaps work, but he refused.

All in all, I will say he is a friendly guy who means well, but don't count on receiving anything other than a useless SSRI medication if you visit anxiety / panic attack issues.

This provider has so much helpful information available online. They have an impressive website that's easy to use, with forms that you can fill out before your appointment. They also have a great online presence in multiple directories. They made the extra effort to make sure every question and concern I had was addressed. I love that they are always more than happy to answer my questions, and actually welcome questions. I've felt awkward at some other places I've visited when I've tried to ask a lot of questions, but not here. The office was very easy to locate. I didn't have any trouble finding it at all. One thing I noticed about their office was how absolutely fantastic it smelled. They must clean or sanitize all the time.
