Dr. Downey pulled a tooth of mine Thur. Nov. 29, 2018. I was able to get a last min. appointment. He and Julie spent 2+ hours working on this issue and still wasn't able to get ALL the roots out. We decided enough time had been spent and I was exhausted. I left after close to 3 hours of being in the chair and office with all the necessary prescriptions and instructions. After another sleepless night I am well on the road to full recovery. I am experiencing very little pain this AM and have taken only one ibuprofen sense getting up at 5:45 AM and ingesting one hydrocodone at 5:45AM. Dr Downey and Julie did everything possible to make this unpleasant experience as positive as possible. My experience, as unpleasant as it was, was made much better with their concern for me and still able to complete the reason for making the appointment. Nature wouldn't allow for the complete removal of this tooth and Dr. Downey is not an oral surgeon. His attempt to remove this "bad" tooth has left me extremely pleased and comfortable with the results and his knowledge and expertise. Having been a patient of Dr. Downey's for the entire 18 years he has been in Marshalltown has been a pleasure, if going to a dentist is a pleasure, and I recommend Dr. Downey and will continue to see him for my dental needs.
