Dr. Farooq obtained her bachelor of dental surgery from de’Montmorency College of Dentistry and earned a gold medal as the top graduate. She continued her education in the United Kingdom on a Commonwealth Scholarship to study at Eastman Dental Institute, the University of London, where she earned a master of science in dental public health. During this time, Dr. Naila Farooq also earned a diploma in dental public health from the Royal College of Surgeons, England. Subsequently, Dr. Naila Farooq moved to the United States, enrolled at the University of Maryland, and garnered a certificate in pediatric dentistry and a master of science from the Department of Oral and Craniofacial Biological Sciences. Through the University of Maryland, Dr. Naila Farooq acquired greater experience in the dental field. Completing her residency in pediatric dentistry at the institution, Dr. Naila Farooq was a post-doctoral fellow and research associate at the Departments of Pediatric Dentistry and of Oral and Craniofacial Biological Sciences. Dr. Naila Farooq was the recipient of two awards, the National Institutes of Health National Research Service Award training grant and a Mentored Clinical Scientist Development Award, totaling over $400,000.
