A graduate of Interamerican University in San Juan, Puerto Rico and the University of Puerto Rico School of Medicine, Dr. Gil-Acosta completed his residency in internal medicine at Indiana University Medical Center in Indianapolis. He completed two clinical fellowships in pulmonary and critical care medicine at Emory University in Atlanta, and a postdoctoral research fellowship at Veteran’s Affairs Medical Center in Decatur, Georgia. He is board certified in internal medicine, pulmonary medicine and critical care medicine. Dr. Gil-Acosta is bilingual in English and Spanish. He joined Oaklawn’s active staff in December 2002.
