Last year, I had a routine cleaning/exam. During this cleaning, I was told that my wisdom teeth would need to come out in 12 - 18 months. I went in for a cleaning/exam in July, and they said it was time for my wisdom teeth to come out. They did not clean my teeth. They scheduled another appointment for the following week. I thought, okay, they are cleaning them next week. Nope. They wanted to discuss the anesthetics. I told them I did not want to go under. They said okay, and had me pre-pay for my oral surgery. I told them about my phobias of anesthetics and dental work. They said they understood, and that I could bring someone along with me next week. I thought that was weird, but I paid it ahead of time anyway. They still did not clean my teeth. I figured they would clean them before they extracted my wisdom teeth. I came back the next week for my appointment. They tried to give me anesthetics, and I freaked out. They had it on all my paperwork. I told them no. They gave me attitude like I had changed my mind at the last minute or something. Then they told me that the person I brought along with me was not allowed back in the room - that it was against policy. I started freaking out. Did they not remember the conversation that we had had the previous week? Whatever. When the dentist came in, he said that my wisdom teeth did not need to come out, and asked who told me that they needed to come out. YOU DID!!! I was furious at this point. HE removed my teeth, gave me my scripts, and sent me home. Guess what? My teeth never got cleaned!!! I went through the expected pain and swelling, and was back to normal in 12 days. Friday morning, I woke up with the entire right side of my face swollen, and in extreme pain. I called you , and you told me that I couldn't be seen until Tuesday - FOUR DAYS LATER! I was told to gargle, floss, and put an ice pack on it. I couldn't even open my mouth to gargle or floss it was swollen so much. By Friday night, it had gotten much worse, and my lips were turning purple. I called the emergency number, pressed "1" to be connected with the on-call dentist, and got a "wrong number" message. I tried this four different times, and kept getting the same result. I finally just left a message. Should I just wait until Tuesday, or go to the ER? Saturday morning the pain was so bad I couldn't stop crying. I went to the ER, and it was a good thing that I did, for I had an infection and needed antibiotics. The doctor told me that if I had waited until Tuesday, the infection would have spread to my entire mouth, throat, and possible spread to other parts of my body as well.
Thank you for being the most incompetent and insensitive dentist I have ever been to in my entire life. I will NEVER come back to you again, and I can't wait to tell everyone who will listen what an awful office you are running.
I was worried that they were going to wear an obnoxious cologne, because I've dealt with that at other places, but they didn't even wear cologne. It was fantastic to be able to breathe freely the entire time. I got an appointment quickly. I've never had to wait too long. I couldn't believe how great their office looked. It was very obvious that they took pride in the office's appearance. It was one of the best looking offices I've ever seen. It was easy to get the appointment time that worked for my schedule. It's always bugged me when other dentists' I've visited didn't take the time to really examine my teeth. I didn't encounter that here at all, they made an extra effort to inspect my teeth very thoroughly.
